Glass Balcony Balustrade System
For this project, JT Metalworks Ltd was commissioned to design, fabricate, and install a secure glass balustrade system for a bay window balcony. The client required a solution that provided maximum safety while maintaining clear, unobstructed views from the property.
Our team supplied a bespoke balustrade system built to the latest British Standards, with a finished height of 1100mm from floor level. The structure was fabricated using 80mm steel vertical posts with a 40mm horizontal steel handrail, providing a strong and stable framework suitable for residential balcony use.
The balustrade features 13mm toughened laminated low iron glass infill panels, offering high levels of protection without compromising visibility. The low iron glass ensures a clean, clear appearance with minimal colour distortion, making it ideal for bay window balconies where light and views are a priority.
All steel components were fully galvanised with a rust-protective undercoat before being finished with a durable black powder coating. This process provides long-term resistance to corrosion and weather exposure, making the system suitable for external installation.
Fixing plates were custom designed for under-floor installation, allowing for a clean and discreet finish with no visible surface fixings. All fabrication was carried out to measure, and installation was completed on site by our experienced mobile welders to ensure precise alignment and a secure fit.
