Bespoke Outdoor Grab Rails

JT Metalworks Ltd was contacted for this project to create, manufacture and fit a customized galvanized and powder-coated lightwell grille system, including an access hatch and built-in ladder designed explicitly for a renovated basement conversion, in London. The client sought a solution that would enhance security, airflow and safe entry while matching the architectural design of the residence.

Our crew conducted an on-location evaluation prior to designing a custom lightwell grill crafted for optimal strength, longevity and enduring weather resilience. Made from grade galvanised steel the grill was completed with a superior powder-coated finish providing outstanding corrosion defence and a modern polished look that complements the building’s exterior.

JT Metalworks enhanced both usability and safety by incorporating a lockable access hatch, for maintenance access coupled with a sturdy wall-mounted ladder crafted to comply with top-tier structural reliability standards. Each part was specially fabricated in our workshop guaranteeing fit and secure mounting by our skilled mobile welders.

For all your metal work needs, Tom from JT Metal Works is the real deal. I found Tom's details online and telephoned him. We corresponded via WhatsApp initially, as I was trying to explain my requirements. He gave me an estimate which was competitive with the other quotes I received. I asked Tom to do the following: Design a cage for a window box for the bottom window sill, in the front garden, to stop the troughs being knock to the ground by foxes. Design a new latch for my front gate, as I was unhappy with the one I had. We discussed loosely the design of the cage. I was happy with the quote, so I engaged Tom to carry out the work. Tom asked if he could come to my home to measure up and discuss the design in more detail. I asked him to pause, as I was waiting for some new troughs and I wanted to ensure the measurements would be correct. When the troughs arrived, Tom came and measured up and discussed the design. Tom went into a lot of detail. The types of rods used. The height of the cage. How the cage would be attached to the wall, etc. After a lot of discussion, I also asked Tom to make a rail for the front wall and my gate was rusting, so I asked him to respray it. I'm really pleased Tom went into so much detail, as I really wanted it to look great. Tom was very prompt starting the job. Tom had to replicate the design at the top of my gate, as he couldn't get in touch with the individual who designed/made my gate. Tom contacted me when he was replicating the design, to check I was happy with the copy. The job took approximately 4 weeks. Tom came and installed everything. Again, checking things during the installation. I'm glad he did, as there was a question about the front rail and I wanted it installed in a particular way. I am SO happy with the results. It looks beautiful. The cage fits perfectly. Everything ties in; the gate, cage and rail. Tom is a real professional, who takes pride in his work and wants to do the best job. I would recommend him in a heartbeat.

Had our balcony floor replaced. The guys worked tirelessly on a hot day to remove the old floor, treat the rust and replace with a new floor. The balcony was on the first floor so was not easy to remove the old and bring in the new floor. They were so polite and tidy sweeping up after themselves. Would definately recommend.
