Mobile Site Welding

For this project, JT Metalworks Ltd provided on-site structural steel welding to support builders working to a tight construction schedule. Our mobile welder was dispatched at short notice to prevent delays and keep the project moving efficiently.

Upon arrival, our team assessed the existing steelwork and identified the required modifications to the structural frame. The scope of works included adjusting and reinforcing a 203x46 UC (Universal Column) to accommodate for the updated site requirements. We supplied and welded custom connection plates directly on site, ensuring a flush alignment with the existing structure and compliance with structural specifications.

All welding was carried out using 7018 low hydrogen electrodes, with the steel pre-heated to reduce the risk of cracking and to achieve strong, clean welds suitable for structural applications. This method is essential for site welding on load-bearing steel and ensures long-term strength and reliability.

Working on an active building site, our mobile welding team coordinated closely with other trades to complete the works quickly and safely. By carrying out the fabrication and welding on site, we eliminated the need for steel removal or off-site alterations, saving time and preventing costly delays to the overall build schedule.
