Urgent Cast Iron Repair
For this urgent project, JT Metalworks Ltd was contacted to provide a rapid mobile welding service after a cast iron stair tread on a fourth-floor access staircase cracked and became unsafe. The property owner required immediate, safe access, making a fast response essential. Our team mobilised quickly, arriving on-site to assess the damaged tread and provide a free estimate, ensuring the client had a clear and professional plan before work began.
To deliver a long-lasting and secure solution, we fabricated a bespoke replacement stair tread designed to match the existing staircase and withstand heavy daily use. The new steel tread was cut, folded and precision engineered with angle cleats welded to the underside for added strength and stability. Once fabrication was complete, our mobile welders delivered the replacement component to site, removed the old, damaged tread and installed the new one using high-strength M12 bolts and nuts to ensure maximum safety and durability.
